Our aim is to secure the restoration of Uckfield line train services to
Lewes and Tunbridge Wells, creating a new Wealden Line which would:
1) Provide new travel opportunities across East Sussex and Kent
2) Stimulate the local economy
3) Benefit the environment by relieving road congestion

“Re-opening Lewes-Uckfield moves us towards a greater sanity and more sensible approach to transport strategy which meets the needs of the wider community”

19 April 2010: BML2 Website Launched PDF Print E-mail

Today sees the launch of a new website www.bml2.co.uk, which transforms the rebuilding of the Lewes to Uckfield as well as the Eridge to Tunbridge Wells railway lines from local schemes, into a major new scheme as an important part of a second Brighton Main Line.

The plans that have been published today show how a direct railway can be built from London to both Brighton and Seaford/Eastbourne without having to change trains at Lewes. Rebuilding the link from Eridge to Tunbridge Wells, would also provide relief on the Tonbridge/Redhill line and also enable a large swathe of people to travel to the Universities at Falmer as well as carrying spectators to football matches at the nearby stadium currently being built for Brighton & Hove Albion.
